What makes Vanguard Mystery School different?
- All the content for each week’s MATTERS will be uploaded to the Google Drive folder by Sunday evening. This will include outlines, documents, videos, and other resources.
- Throughout the week, contemplation prompts will be pushed to Google Chat. These prompts are designed to encourage deeper reflection and discussion, allowing us to explore the week’s topics as they evolve.
- On Thursdays, we will come together for a live discussion. This is your opportunity to share insights, ask questions, and dive deeper into any topic you feel moved by. While participation is optional, we encourage everyone to join and engage.
We encourage you to engage with the material and share anything you come across in your readings or research. Whether it’s an article, a personal insight, or something from your own journey, your contributions enrich the experience for everyone.
Important Note: While we strive to present a balanced, philosophical approach, it’s impossible to provide every perspective on any given topic. What we share are just the starting points—nuggets to inspire further exploration. We encourage you to conduct your own searches, explore multiple sources, and even ask people you meet if they know about the topics we discuss. The goal is to strengthen your critical thinking skills and foster curiosity.
In today’s world, where misinformation and fake news are prevalent, it’s more important than ever to avoid taking any single source at face value. By learning to seek diverse perspectives, you’ll gain a broader and more nuanced understanding of the topics at hand.
What can SCHOLARS expect?
- Vanguard Mystery School (VMS) is open to the public for anyone over the age of 21.
- Content is provided on Sundays, and Gathers are held on Thursdays.
- Although classes are grouped into two 7-week sessions, enrollment is on a weekly basis. There’s no long-term commitment. We understand that things can change quickly, like the winds and waves, so no hard feelings if you’re feeling it one week but not the next.
- The core and foundation of Vanguard Mystery School are the GATHERS around MATTERS, not just the topics themselves. It’s a time for philosophical discussions that many of us crave.
- We understand that Thursdays may not work for everyone, so we now offer Google Chat access to SCHOLARS who enroll in any week and invest the suggested amount for the duration of a session. Google Chat is open for anyone to use at any time. While there is no obligation to respond or participate, it serves as an extra option for people to connect outside of the live sessions.
Note: Like many of you, we’re tired of creating extra usernames and downloading unnecessary apps just to engage. That’s why we’ve simplified things by using platforms most of you already have. With the exception of selecting your investment option, you won’t need to create any new usernames or passwords. We hope this makes it easier for you to join and also serves as a model for how things can be done differently—because, as they say, “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.”
What are GATHERS?
- GATHERS are a time to ponder, share, ask questions, and dig deeper into any MATTERS covered.
- Think of GATHERS as digital cyphers—freestyle sessions for philosophical pondering and contemplation with like-minded people. If you’ve never experienced this, you’ll be amazed at what comes up!
- GATHERS are a safe space to go deep!
- GATHERS will be held once a week (on Thursdays) via Google Meet, lasting at least 1 hour. This is optional and not mandatory but provides a live group discussion space for those who want to participate.
- Start times are in EST and scheduled for each of the 7 weeks.
- In case a live GATHER cannot be conducted due to technical difficulties, it will be rescheduled for the following day at the same time.
- All GATHERS will be recorded. A link to the previous Thursday’s GATHER will be included in the following week’s content (Sunday).
How do I get MATTERS (aka content)?
MATTERS will be accessible each week on Sunday, no later than midnight. You will receive an email notification with a password to access:
- Outlines, documents, videos, etc.
- A link to join that week’s Google Meet session.
MATTERS may include on-demand videos and PDFs with resources for reading and contemplation prompts. You will have the option to download and save branded PDFs. On-demand videos will ONLY be available for download for 7 days for each MATTER.
Access will be sent to the email address used to sign up via Gumroad.
Each week, you will also be sent information to access our live GATHERS that occur weekly on Thursdays. (See the description above.)
Please check your spam folder if you do not receive the email.
